Cyber Monday - sale extended at Papilio

If you are looking for vinyl, you can find just about anything you want at Papilio! The site is down now, but will be fixed soon, and they have extended the Cyber Monday sale. You also get a discount if you are a member of the MTC forum and the coupons stack!!

Here's what Anthony says:
As we are down today, I'll be extending the sale for an extra day and YES, the MTC Forum discount (10% off our Inkjet White Waterproof Vinyl removable or permanent) will stack with our current promotions.

All said and done, that's a 35% discount on 10 packs and in and around $12.00 or so off of bulk sheet packages. Log-in to input our Cybermonday discount code ('cybermonday' for 25% off 10 packs, 'smallbiz' for $5.00 off your first 100 sheet box of each item type) and in the Customer Notes section let me know you're an MTC member and let me know your MTC username and the MTC discount will be manually applied after your order is placed.

We've also got some deals on rolls going on too (12" x 30' - 20+ colors to choose) - buy 2 get 1 roll of Transfer Tape or 9" x 30' Gloss White free.

So be sure to hop over to Papilio.  If the site is down, keep checking back because these are great savings!

For those not on FB, i'll post today's Two-for-Tuesday special as well. (Blogger is acting up, so I can't attach my own images, sorry. That's also why the background above is white).  Image is linked.

Wild Wednesday - Happy Thanksgiving from LD

I already shared this poem but LD coupled it with some special goodies!

May your stuffing be tasty
May your turkey plump,
May your potatoes and gravy
Have nary a lump
May your yams be delicious
And your pies take the prize,
And may your Thanksgiving dinner
Stay off your thighs

Friday Freebie - 3D pumpkin

Just in time for thanksgiving!
This is similar to the 3-D pumpkin file that I offered but all in one piece. (image is linked)

Snowmen and cakepops

I recently purchased this
..and I have had some fun playing with it. They are super easy (I just use a cake mix and make it regular) and they bake in just 4 minutes! I use the directions from this video
In this, she unplugs it after about 2 minutes and lets it steam for the remainder of the time. I find that this gives soft, moist cake pops.

For coating, I use the Almond Bark from WalMart. and usually sprinkles. I don't usually put them on sticks, instead I put cupcake toppers on them.
These toppers were made using the Birthday Fishes set from Lettering Delights.
I also had a matching card and gift bag.
But today I decided to use the topper as part of the design itself - to make a snowman!
For this design, I used a card kit from the Silhouette store, card_snowman_kit_C01097_19210, and just modified the design so that I just cut the head and scarf. I doubled this (mirror image) so that I could fold them down. Here's a look at my layout.
A toothpick, a little red sticky tape and you are done! It's that easy.

Thanksgiving card

I love this saying - it was a free download that I found this week. Of course, now I can't find it so if someone else knows where it is, just let me know and I will include it in this post.
I made it into a simple card.
It is layered and popped-up.
Thanksgiving wishes to all my readers as well!

Spinner ornament and Wild Wednesday

There is a great spinner ornament file posted on the MTC forum here (thank you iakstigger!) It makes a great little Christmas project for young and old alike. I printed mine on the Epson Premium Presentation Paper (44#, matte) and printed an inverse print on the reverse side. I cut this with the Silhouette SD with the red cap at 14. Here's a peek at my layout.
And here is the final result.
(sorry about the lighting - I had to hang it from my lamp and that made for lots of messy shadows).

Lettering Delights just announced their Wild Wednesday Bundle, 1 graphic, 1 paper pack and 1 alphabet for only $3.

Nutcrackers in November Challenge going on now!

There are lots of great Challenges (with prizes!) going on at the Nutcrackers in November Challenge at the Make-the-Cut Forum. And also some cute cut files and project ideas. Here are a few that I have completed already.
This is a free file (adapted to MTC by Michelle, original file compliments of Betty from here) for this and they are so cute and very easy to make. The papers above are also free (see this post for full information).  I even made them up at a reduced size (2 per page); these would be a great little gift for guests as a reminder of you during the Holiday season. I even put a "secret" message inside.
I also made a treat box using the free papers (Challenge One). The file for the box can be found here.
And a box for the flat, round glitter ornaments.
I have a free file for it here. The layout looks like this:
For all of these projects, I have been using the Epson Premium Presentation Paper (matte 44#, one-sided) that was on sale last week at Staples. It is on sale again (although at a higher price) this week. I cut to the Silhouette with the red cap at a force of 14. The score lines cut well at that setting (but can also be scored at a setting of 7).

Hop on over the to the Make-the-Cut Forum to check out all the fun! There are a lot more challenges going on in addition to the ones I have already posted (I really like the Luminary Challenge as well). The Challenge runs through November 30.

Manic Monday - Finger Puppets

Remember those cute finger puppets posted earlier this year? Well, they are on sale today for just $2 a set!
And today is the last day to save on the Cut-It's Bundle.

3-D pumpkin for Thanksgiving (free file)

I saw a project posted on the MTC forum for a 3-D pumpkin and played around until I had a similar design.  (I wold ike to credit the original poster but I do not remember who it was.) This would be best used as a table decoration for Halloween or Thanksgiving.
What you can't see in the above file is the paper insert that I needed to keep it from getting too tall and out-of-shape.
I just used brads on the ends to attach the strips. For the texture fill I used a Basic Tile with these settings:
Here's a look at my layout:
Download the free file (without the Basic Tiles texture, of course) here.

Leaping Lizards treasure hunt (freebie at the end)

If you have not seen FB today, check out the fun treasure hunt Lettering Delights has have posted - with special prices along the way and a freebie at the end. Check out the sales items for the next clue. And a hint: IE did not give me all the correct search results, I had to use Chrome, and the sales do not show if you are logged-in. So stay logged out and find all the clues and sales for today!
