It's Leap Day!

Lots of interesting things to find today. Lettering Delights has all their frog graphics on sale today in celebration of Leap Day!
And to further celebrate Leap Day I have a file for you. Remember the circle flip/swing card from a few days ago? Well I have one in a bracket shape as well. I don't have a card for you yet so you'll just have to use your imagination a little - and share your results with me!

Here is what the file looks like.
You can download the file here for the next week. (Note: I have test cut this but just with plain paper)

Did you see this blog post? I love the story behind it, and yet another reason t celebrate Leap Day!

Paper clip book mark bunnies

OK, do you remember the ribbon paper clips that were discussed around Valentine's Day?
I thought they were darling and made up a few but had not given them out yet (beware - they are rather addictive to make!)  The more I looked at them, the more they looked like bunny ears.
So I decided to make a holder for them - a bunny holder!
I used this bunny from MeFlick's site as the base for my design. She says it was a coloring page that she converted (I am not sure where to give original credit).
I deleted the shadow, then split the grey and deleted the ears. I changed a few colors, gave it a new shadow and a saying, and it is ready to go!
Aren't they cute? I really liked the book marks but I think the bunny puts them over the top! I will be distributing these to the ladies at our next Women of Worth group, I can't wait!

I can't share the entire file (the bunny is not mine to share) but if you bring in the bunny body (minus the ears) at 1.9463" high, it will fit perfectly into my file. Update! MeFlick has graciously allowed me to post her bunny into my file! So I have the file ready for you, ready to cut! Download here.  Please be sure to stop by her blog and say thank-you!

Circle swing cards - and a free file

The idea of swing cards has been around for awhile. There is a video on how to make a square one manually here. SVG Cuts has some files for what they call "lever cards", and Sizzix has some dies for their "Flip Its". I have designed a similar card in MTC (using Basic Shapes) and would like to share it with you.
I used The Paper Company card stock (from JoAnn's) for the base (cut at blade = 2, force = 25), and paper from Recollections' Bold Basic for the designed paper (purchased at Michael's, cut at blade =2, force = 9). The swirl is not original to me, and I actually used the negative space because I liked it better. I obtained it from here. I am still working on the inside sentiment but I will probably be using this as a birthday card.
(I am not real happy with this photo because the lighting is so bad)

The MTC file is original to me and free for the next week using this link.  The bottom layer is for the card stock and the top layer for the designed paper.  I would love to see any cards you make with this design!

If you need an envelope, Lettering Delights has a hidden freebie on the download page. Just download any purchase (even a freebie from the month's freebies) and you will see the pdf download. Just enlarge to 5x5" and you have an envie for this card.

$2 Tuesday - Mardi Gras masks, a Freebie and a freebie from me!

And be sure to "like" Lettering Delights on Facebook - they are striving for 700 more fans! If they do that in the next 16 days there will be lots of freebies to celebrate! So be sure to sign up and have your friends sign up as well. (The link to this freebie is on their FB page - no links here. Hint: you can also do a search for the file name from here and you will find it).

 And now.....drumroll.........a freebie from me!
Have you ever had one of those corner punches that allow you to slip a photo in the slots (like above) and you end up with a mat for your photos? I had several but I could never get them to just the exact size for my photos - they always ended up either too big or too small. Well, spacing is super easy in MTC - so MTC to the rescue!

I call them Custom Corner Cuts - and I am working on several. Here is the first, I call it Custom Corner Cuts - Lattice.
(That's my niece and great-niece - excuse the colors, this is a photo of a photo. I promise it looks better in person! The focus is off a bit but you get the idea.  And I hope you like yellow; I have a ream of yellow paper so I am using it for all my test cuts).
I also have a variation - this one is similar to the Corner Adorner Slot Punch punch called Square Steps. But my version is completely designed by me in MTC using Basic Shapes and thin paths.  I love to design in Make-the-Cut! And the photos fit perfectly, no more guessing or making multiple attempts before getting it right.
These files are for paper (I have not tested them yet on card stock) and sized for 4x6 photos. I cut them from 24# copy paper and they worked great (if you have any problems, email me at neldacnm at yahoo to let me know). You can get my file here - free through Friday only!

And as always - if you enjoy my files or posts, I appreciate it if you use my links for any purchases at stores with which I am affiliated: Lettering Delights, SVG Cuts, and Digi Web Studio.

Manic Monday

OK, it is really Tuesday now but I had a super busy day yesterday - and got by on 2 hours of sleep and one 30 min power nap! LD got this out in the evening as I was going to a women's meeting at our church, so no time to post until now. Great meeting by the way.

The printout would be great as a coloring page. And I could see these used in flashcards as a memeory game as well. Lots f educational uses! (images are linked).

Get ready for Easter early - free Bunny Basket file

Scrapadoddle posted information her blog about how to make this cute basket (box?) from a cricut cartridge.
Well it is even easier to design in MTC using Basic Shapes. I whipped it up in no time, but did not have the time to cut it. To my/our rescue comes Michele (aka colbyscratymom on the MTC forum)! She graciously offered to make a trial cut and takes photos. I think she did a great job, Thanks, Michele!

Here's a screen shot of the design layout
There are three layers, white, pink, and the score lines. You may not want the score lines (Michele doesn't usually use them) but she cut them by mistake and said that they folded very well and looked nice.
Isn't he cute?  I love the googly eyes!  (Nice touch, Michele.)
He even has a scalloped tail. You can download the file here. I am still not sure - is he a box or a basket? Does a basket have to have a handle? Whatever, I think he is super cute!
